StarrBright Logo

When StarrBright contacted me about a logo, they had a very clear idea and direction they wanted to take. The biggest challenge? Creating a finished logo that worked well for two very different business functions.

Numerous typefaces and layouts were explored, but ultimately the client desired to blend the traditional, which we represented with a serif typeface and a navy blue, with the fluidity of a modern script to indicate the personal present. The main logo was paired with a short byline underneath the main text to differentiate between the two business types while providing a clean cohesive presentation. As each business grows the colors and typefaces of the logos will be used for more branding of materials and signage.
The star represents both the clients name, Starr, and the nursery rhyme: 'Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight'. or the coaching business it represents their desire to help people make their dreams come true, while for the suicide prevention presentations it's a wish that no family have to experience the pain of suicide.
The star was originally used to cross the 't' as well as dot the 'i' of the text. Ultimately the decision was made to use it only for the 'i' as it flowed much better with the text from left to right.
