The Underground Taphouse in Pasco is themed around the London Underground and the decor reflects this love of the city. They wanted to include a large scale skyline on the wall and choose a painted mural over a vinyl decal because of the durability and the small details that needed to be represented.
The mural is painted in three layers to give the illusion of depth, and transferred by projector as each layer is added.
Fine details on each building are added with a small brush to capture the elements of each building and make them recognizable. The skyline includes landmark buildings such as The Shard, the O2 Arena, Saint Paul's Cathedral, the Nelson Monument, the London Eye, the Palace of Westminster, the Gherkin, Tower Bridge, the Cheese Grater, Tower of London, and City Hall.
As a final addition to the space, on the front of the bar we replicated the logo of the new establishment which is appropriately surrounded by subway tiles.
